So, the story-- my professor assigned us to find an event in Utah (whattayaknow- Utah does have stuff that happens!) where there is a performance at a venue. I had to convince him that the Derby Girls were a performance, and not a sporting event, but I eventually won him over.

We had to make an 'innovative' poster. My main innovation was the fact that it hangs crooked, but there are some die-cut parts where the characters hang over the edges. (I swore I would never do such a thing again, after the pain the brochure gave me where I had some die-cut elements, but the professor wanted to see me do that, so I humored him.)

So, here is my poster for the Salt City Derby Girls. And yes, it's a collage. If only for the fact that I did each element separately before putting it into the piece.

The final printing dimensions, before trimming and all that fun stuff, is just under 35"x21".
